This style of meditation is gentle, simple, and lovely to do together in a group.
Meditation Classes are currently postponed and will resume when it's safe to do so.
We meet outside in a peaceful pasture where there is a nice mix of sun and shade. We are almost always joined by birds, dogs, horses, and even cows!
Classes are taught by Ven. Ekkasak and include guided and silent meditation, group discussion, and a question and answer session. Newcomers to meditation are welcome to this group!

Imagine sitting in an open field with a light breeze touching your face. You will be surrounded by a protected valley, animals in the fields nearby, and a safe group of kind-hearted meditation students seeking inner peace and fellowship.
With the fast-paced lives, we lead, our minds are often cluttered and busy with thoughts. All of that constant thinking and doing can lead to feeling overwhelmed, and it can have a huge impact on our emotions and our bodies. Many of us have never learned to train our minds. But the mind is very much like a muscle that needs strengthening. Meditation is a proven way to train our minds and is practiced all over the world and by hundreds of different cultures.
When we learn to work with our minds, we can quiet our thinking and bring our minds “home” to a peaceful resting place. As we get more experienced with this, we can do it all day long! You can stand in the grocery store line or sit in traffic and use your meditation techniques! The benefits are endless: clearer thoughts, better sleep, more peaceful emotions, less stress, and more energy.
What to Expect: All classes are taught by wise and gentle monks from Thailand. The sessions begin with our beloved Thai monks giving a brief introduction to the meditation techniques with simple instructions. Then, our teacher gently guides us with a soothing voice for a few minutes, helping the group ease into a period of silent meditation. When the meditation session is over, the group is open to share their experiences and ask questions. The monks offer great suggestions for improving meditation and tell wonderfully insightful stories and teachings.
What to Bring: This meditation group is held outside and the weather varies. Please dress in layers so you can be comfortable. It is suggested that you bring a yoga mat or blanket and a meditation cushion or pillow if you wish. People often bring a blanket to stay warm or a light scarf or shawl to keep the sun off their skin.
